Brush and Glow

DRY BRUSHING

If you want to give your whole body a treat get into the habit of DRY BRUSHING.

DRY BRUSHING or BODY BRUSHING has a number of benefits – firstly it will remove dead skin from your body and freshen up your outer epidermis , secondly it will stimulate blood flow which aids in moving fresh oxygenated blood to your skin and to move toxins from your skin layers and thirdly it will make you feel energised!

To dry brush ideally use a long handled natural bristle brush, (if not available use an exfoliating mitt or loofah).

Stand in your shower or bath. Starting with your feet, gently but firmly brush the whole body in long strokes in the direction of the heart – so that is- up your arms , up your legs. The only exception is around your abdomen where you should use clockwise motions.

The reason you brush towards your heart is that this is the path of the lymphatic drainage system so you are helping to move the toxins out of your body.

Brush with as much pressure as you can without damaging the skin. Use lighter strokes on more sensitive areas eg breast area.

After brushing have a shower in a moisturising shower wash eg L’Occitane Amand Shower Oil or Aveeno daily moisturising body wash, after the shower apply L’Occitane Amand smoothing and firming milk concentrate or Aveeno Daily moisturiser

The whole ritual has a stimulating yet soothing effect.

I guarantee you will become addicted and will look forward to your weekly regime.

Combine this with drinking at least two litres of water every day and you will have softer, smoother and more radiant skin – AND you will also feel totally energised!
