Ask us about the new FREE CONTRACEPTION SCHEME which applies to people between the ages of 17 and 25. It allows for free contraceptives including the contraceptive pill ,implants and IUDs and the morning after pill. Bring your PPS number when you attend
Drug Payments Scheme (DPS) Monthly
The Minister for Health has set the threshold, above which the State pays for expenditure by families or individuals on prescribed medicines for use within one calender month.
Threshold Payment €80
GMS Scheme
Prescription Levy. Pharmacists are obliged, by law, to collect the levy on every item dispensed on medical card prescriptions.
The Prescription Levy is €1 per item for patients over 70 years and their dependents. the monthly cap for an individual or family is €10.
The Prescription Levy is €1.50 per item for all other patients. The monthly cap for an individual or family is €15.
